I don't have my christmas mantel ready yet, so I thought I would share some holiday pics of a historic hotel we visited recently. This is the lobby of the Monticello Hotel in Longview Washington that was built in 1923. It has medallion ceilings and mahogany paneling. I love these older buildings and we decided to stop in and see their Christmas decorations. You definitely feel like you are walking back in time when you enter the lobby. It was dimly lit with bright chandies so I had to tone down the color a bit with this picture.
The front of the Monticello and the original neon sign that is quite unique.
The interior is rather dimly lit, but the tree is lovely all decked out in gold ornaments.
The beautiful simplicity of the nativity.
I love chandeliers and this one is huge and not overly ornate. I also love the murals that are painted above the paneling depicting frontier life.
Another closeup of the chandy. I love those crystals.
Another pretty light fixture with beautifully carved glass.
The vintage wreath is lovely as well.
The exterior is in need of some repair, but the interior is always kept up very nicely. I should have gotten a closer pic of this ancient Indian statue. It is so symbolic, especially when the torch is lit.
More pics of lake sacajawea with one of its lovely fountains.
This is the smaller fountain at the main entrance to the lake. There were quite a few ducks and seagulls at the lake that day.
The simple beauty of a vintage style collage
This is the island that they decorate each year but the sun was too bright to get a good picture of it. There is always so much charm to be found in small towns. We always come here each Christmas to enjoy all the decorations and the hospitality.
More Christmas decor on the way. Thanks for stopping by.
