Halloween pumpkin chair

I thought it would be fun to decorate a little more for Halloween. It's something I rarely do anymore, but I had my large orange chair to inspire me so I knew I had to do something with it. I decided to turn it into a  spooky pumpkin chair and have some fun.

This is the chair I started with. It is a modern chair from the 60's. I did a post on my modern chairs in August. If you want to read about them you can check here. I love the fan shape and the scalloped design with all the stitching. I love everything about this chair except the color.  I knew it would be perfect for Halloween though because it reminds me of a pumpkin

I bought most of my decorations at the Dollar Tree. I knew I wanted to decorate some pumpkins and put them in the chair and  when I stopped at Dollar Tree I found the rest of what I needed. I mod podged some foam pumpkins with plain  napkins that I stamped with halloween images and  stamped out mini tags to go on my pumpkins. I also added some halloween napkins to my other pumpkin.

I love this sign I found at dollar tree. It was exactly what I was looking for and I added some shabby halloween netting and  made some bat silhouettes.

A closeup of the shabby pumpkin I made with my stamped images. These were fun to make but so messy because the napkins were so thin and wanted to tear, so I just went with the shabby look.

I added some tissue paper garland and upside down bats on the window frame.

I decided to decorate my small bookcase with some halloween cards that I made. I wanted to keep that creepy look going with more bats.

I really like the scary tree and moon  with the bat on this card.

I love this lady stamp with the clockworks in her hair and the time flies stamp. Just the right amount of  mystery.

These cute little owl stamps were on clearance. I have so many stamps but I hardly had any halloween ones so these were a fun find.

We usually have a fair amount of little trick or treaters that come by so hopefully we can give them some spooky thrills.

Thanks  so much for stopping by. Comments are always appreciated!

  3. You are so creative. Thanks for stopping by my blog so I could find yours! We used to have a chair like that, but it was yellow. I may have to run to the dollar store and pick up some of those pumpkins. I wanted to try the napkin thing, but didn't have any pumpkins left to do it with.

  4. Thanks so much for stopping by and following me. I always enjoy visiting your blog and checking out your ideas. Those chairs were pretty common in the 60's and I couldn't part with mine so I have to try new ways to decorate with them. Hope you try the napkins with the pumpkins as well!

  6. Do you have an email associated with your blog by any chance? When I went to respond to your comment (which comes in an email to me), it showed your email as "nonreply-comment" so I couldn't send you back an email. Here's a tutorial Sue did on it a few months ago http://sullivanandmurphy.blogspot.com/2012/03/are-you-no-reply-blogger-make-yourself.html (I have no idea how to make that a link instead of the whole address). But basically, a lot of blogs have a gmail account set up just for their blog and that way people can correspond back and forth with them. Up to you though, just didn't know if you knew that or not :)
