I haven't decorated for halloween for quite some time, but since I am blogging I knew it would be fun to create a few projects. It's just one of those holidays that helps connect you to your inner child. I decided to reuse the chalkboard calendar that I created last month and create a cute but spooky halloween calendar with it.
Here's the chalkboard I started with. I knew I wanted to use the graphic again so I attached some black cardstock over the image. I had originally planned on using the halloween witch, but changed my mind.
I found some really cute halloween stamps on clearance and some bat stickers. Love those owls and bats!
I was trying to find a graphic to put over the cardstock and I came across this site. Vintage halloween ecards have lots of vintage images to choose from for halloween. I was visiting a blog I really enjoy, confessions of a plate addict, and saw a super cute project she created with the vintage cards for her candles. I thought I would give her a little shout out since that is where I found the website. I checked out the ecard website and found this great cat and pumpkin image that I really liked.
It was such a fun and simple project to do. I tied it into a bat related theme and just went from there. I wanted it to look a little spooky but still be fun and whimsical.
Excuse the photo quality on this one. The flash lit it up too much and the lighting in this room is not the best. I wanted to show a close up of the grid part of the calendar and the stamped images I used. I know it is a little funky, but so much fun.
Just a little Halloween fun to get me in the mood for more decorating. Hope you liked my cats and bats and thanks for visiting!
